Soprano saxophones are partly handmade, and that’s a good thing — but it also means no two instruments are exactly the same. Small variations in size and geometry can lead to common issues, especially in the low register: sound instability and gargling at soft dynamics.
We’ve developed a simple solution to address these problems and improve the overall response and sound of your instrument.
By inserting a precision-fitted brass or silver ring at the joint between the body and the neck, the effective length of the saxophone is slightly increased. This helps stabilise the low register, helps with intonation in the high and low registers and enhances the sound.
Because every saxophone is different, each ring must be sized specifically for your instrument. That’s where the sizing kit comes in.
We send you a set of 3D-printed test rings with very small size variations. These allow you to find the exact fit for your saxophone, without guessing.

Test the rings one by one on your instrument. The right fit is immediately noticeable: better stability, clearer response, and a more balanced feel. To help you during this process, select the ring you’re currently testing and we’ll guide you toward the best match.
Once you’ve found the perfect size, we manufacture the final ring to those exact measurements.
Choose your material:
Brass for a slightly more focused and brilliant response
Solid silver for a slightly darker, rounder feel
Choose your RINGs finish
The difference is subtle and largely a matter of personal preference — both materials use the same custom fit and deliver the same functional improvement.
